I continue to be fascinated, titillated, inspired and WOWed by Google. It’s no surprise Fortune Magazine named them Best Company To Work For in 2008. Google continues to reinvent itself by doing some really unique and revolutionary things that not many other large corporations can successfully pull off. (It doesn’t hurt that it has made millionaires out of 1000+ Google employees.)
Some cool things about Google:
- -Green work environment (Solar panels provide clean electricity to Google’s Corporate Offices)
- -20% Time Initiative (Allows employees to spend 1 day a week working on a project of their choice)
- -Company give stock options to 99% of it’s employees
- -On site child care
- -On site fitness center and subsidized gym memberships
- -Offers telecommuting positions to employees
- -Cool positions available at Google: Animal Health Expert, Green Business Director, Director of Other
- -Free food in their gourmet cafeteria
- -Free ski trips to the Sierra Mountains
- -Dog friendly offices
- -On-site Doctor

It all sounds great, but if you’re a company that makes millions, it’s easy to give staff those working conditions.
They almost don’t even need to publish this article. Everybody knows Google is a great place to work.
Instead they should focus on small business and find unique attributes in each. The only reason they don’t do this is because it requires too much effort from Fortune Magazine!
